Back from the jungle. Another 12 hours on the bus but no time to rest.
We are right back on another bus to Otavalo, some 2 hours north of Quito. Today is market day.
Otavalo has a couple of markets, one of them is an animal market. I insisted on not going there. Just don't want to end up as an Ecuadorian dinner dish. And you know that I look delicious. Eeeek.
The most popular market among tourists is the one around Poncho Plaza. You should get there early for the best bargains. The dealers offer great handmade carpets, hats, bags and everything else you can craft out of wool. You can also find nice jewelry, artwork and and and.
The dealers also expect you to bargain. They will say a price and start the price setting themselves by offering a discount.
The little senorita on the picture is definitely the number one seller in the market. But she did not want to sell me. I knew a have a crush on Ecuadorian girls.
