Ok, from Knysna we drove on along the coast toward the north-east to – and here comes the next difficult name – Tsitsikamma National Park, which turned out to be a really beautiful spot that we didn’t have enough time to explore. ‘Tsitsikamma’ – and I learned this just now, doing a little online research – is a Khoisan word meaning ‘place of many waters’. I also found out that it is South Africa’s oldest and largest marine reserve.
We witnessed a very dramatic sunset from the rocky shore and stayed overnight at beautiful Tsitsikamma Lodge. And that was about it. Next time I want to go and hike the famous Otter Trail (which takes several days) and then I also read about something called the ‘Striptease River Trail’ … wonder what that is!???
